  • Our online donation form works best when you have the latest version of whichever web browser you choose to use. We developed this handy reference guide for the three most common (Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox). Google Chrome’s autofill function works well for donors giving to multiple organizations. It saves them from having to enter their contact information more than once.
  • We’re pleased to let you know that Click & Pledge has set up live support for you from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Pacific Time) through Zoom. This Zoom webinar is exclusively for Seattle Foundation GiveBIG nonprofits:

We’ve heard that some of your donors are so excited for this year’s GiveBIG Day of Champions, that they have already started making donations! If this is the case, then you can actually back out donations using your Click & Pledge account. This online forum shows you how:

Please note: Before you back out a donation, you should check with the donor first to make sure they are okay with backing out the donation and making it again on Tuesday, May 5. We have actually heard of some donors in the past who have let the nonprofit keep that donation, but have then still made another donation on GiveBIG day, too! Now that’s a #PhilanthropyChampion.

GiveBIG is one week away! As you’re promoting the big day, don’t forget to tell your audience about the GiveBIG Golden Tickets: When you make a GiveBIG donation next Tuesday, May 5, you’ll be automatically entered in the drawing to win a #giveBIG Golden Ticket! Golden Ticket winners get an additional $1,000 given in their name to the nonprofit that received their donation. They’ll also receive a $100 gift card to Starbucks or Taco Time for themselves.

Profiles and Click & Pledge

Thanks to all of you who have gotten your profile updates in on time. We are working through a backlog of updates. If your profile is new to the website, we will email you when your new profile is live. We appreciate your patience as we work with over 1700 organizations that are preparing for GiveBIG. You may continue to submit profile updates but as we get closer to the event we can’t guarantee that new updates will be posted by May 5. Get those updates in now!

If you haven’t tested your Donate Now button, you really should to ensure that your donors will be able to make donations on May 5. It will be very difficult to resolve issues on the day of the event. Please run a small transaction through the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile. If you run into any problems making the donation, please email us at You can update the contact information on the receipt yourself on the Click & Pledge portal. Please refer to this previous blog post for instructions on updating the receipt text.

While we’re all getting ready to make Tuesday, May 5 the most successful GiveBIG yet, we wanted to thank you for your support and invite you take a break for a championship-worthy cause.

Am I Ready for GiveBIG?

If you have submitted your organization’s profile updates and have successfully tested the Donate Now button, you are all set for GiveBIG 2015! Your organization is automatically entered into a drawing for a $100 Taco Time gift card courtesy of returning sponsor, Taco Time, if you complete testing by midnight on April 15. If you haven’t submitted your profile updates or tested the Donate Now button, read on.


Profile Updates Due April 15

April 15 is coming up. Have you submitted your profile updates? Please get your profile updates in so we will have time to format and publish them before the event.

I Can’t Find My Organization’s Profile on The Seattle Foundation Website

We are caught up on all new profiles that have been submitted. If you don’t see your profile but you believe you have completed it, please go to and choose Your Account. Select the NPO Profile tab and click on your organization’s name at the bottom of that screen. Check your updates and then scroll to the bottom of the screen and choose Submit. It may take us a few days to get your submission formatted and published. If your profile is new to the website, you will receive an email from us.

Donate Now Button Testing

Test Your Donate Now Link by Midnight on April 15 for Gift Card Drawing

Please run a small credit card transaction through the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile by midnight on Wednesday (April 15) to be automatically entered into a drawing for a $100 Taco Time gift card from our returning sponsor, Taco Time. More importantly, your test will confirm that your Click & Pledge account is active and ready to receive donations during GiveBIG. Even if you miss the deadline for the drawing, you should still test your Donate Now button.

My Transaction Didn’t Go Through When I Tested My Donate Now Button

We have heard from several of you that changed banks since last year’s event and then had trouble running the test transaction through your Donate Now button. Closing a bank account is the most common reason that a Click & Pledge transaction fails in testing. It is easily fixed with a call to TransFirst (the merchant bank that processes credit card payments for Click & Pledge): 800-654-9256. Please have a statement handy if you don’t know your merchant ID.

I Don’t See a Credit Card Option on My Organization’s Profile

Some of you have not completed the Click & Pledge sign-up process. If you don’t see a credit card option on the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile on The Seattle Foundation website, please check your email for recent correspondence from TransFirst or call 800-654-9256 to check on the status of your account.

Have You Tested Your Donate Now Button Yet?

Full Life Care, The Rescue Mission, Washington Budget and Policy Center, Congregations for the Homeless and Cascadia Community College Foundation, along with over 500 of you who also tested your active Click & Pledge accounts, were included in the random drawing. Full Life Care won a $100 Starbucks card and the other organizations mentioned each won a $50 coupon courtesy of Click & Pledge.

Didn’t win or haven’t tested yet?

We will be selecting one lucky nonprofit organization at random to receive a $100 Taco Time gift card from our sponsor Taco Time. If you tested already, you are automatically included in this next drawing (previous winners are not eligible). We will select from test transactions made from March 1 through midnight on April 15.

If you have an active Click & Pledge account and haven’t submitted a small credit card donation through the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile, here’s what you need to do:

  • Find your organization’s profile using the search box on
  • Hover over the Donate Now button with your mouse and choose Make a Credit Card Donation.
  • Make a small donation (even $1 is fine) and review the receipt. If you need to update the contact information on the receipt, please follow the instructions in this previous blog entry. Please wait 1 business day after you update the contact information to test it again. You only need to do one test to be eligible for the drawing.

What If You Don’t See the Credit Card Donation Option?

Some of you are still working through the Click & Pledge sign-up process. We will email you when the credit card donation link has been added to your organization’s profile. We are currently up-to-date on new active Click & Pledge accounts but yours may still be in the pipeline.

If you do not see the credit card donation link under the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile, and you believe you have completed the Click & Pledge/TransFirst sign up process, please check your email for an acknowledgement message from TransFirst and forward the email to If you can’t find an acknowledgement email, please call TransFirst at 800-654-9256 to check on the status of your application.

Where’s My Profile/Profile Update?

We are up-to-date on publishing new profiles but we are working through a backlog of updates to existing profiles.  If you are not finding your profile and you are new to the website, please go back into the edit form and choose Submit. That alerts the team that your profile is ready to be published. Please allow us a few days to get your new  profile edited and published. If your profile is new to the website, we will email your organization to notify you that it is live.

We can’t guarantee that profile updates submitted after this date will be live for the event. Please be patient with our staff as we are working with over 1700 organizations this year.

Click & Pledge accounts must be active by this date. We will begin removing organizations that do not have an active Click & Pledge account starting Friday, April 17.
