Testing, Testing…

Thank you to those of you who have already run a test transaction through the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile. We have changed the receipt correction process since last year (an updated version of the Nonprofit Toolkit reflects this update).

You no longer need to email us to make changes to the receipt address and contact information. You can now log in to the Click & Pledge portal to update the address and contact information that shows up on the donation receipt.

  1. Log in to https://portal.clickandpledge.com and choose Account Info in the upper right portion of the screen.
  2. You will be on the Your Profile tab.
  3. Choose the Edit option beside each section that needs to be updated.
  4. Make your change and choose Update to save your changes.

If you have any issues updating the information, please contact Click & Pledge with “TSF GiveBIG” in the subject line: http://help.clickandpledge.com/customer/portal/emails/new

Haven’t run a test transaction yet? Please run a small credit card donation through your organization’s Donate Now button (if you do not see the credit card option, your Click & Pledge link has not been added yet or you have not completed the application process). You should get a receipt via email. Review the receipt and see the steps above if you need to make any changes to the contact information. If you do not receive a receipt, please check your junk mail folder.

Profile Updates

Please continue to submit your profile updates. We are busily reviewing and posting your changes. If your profile is new or you have just completed the Click & Pledge signup process, we will notify you via email when your changes are live. We appreciate your patience as we assist over 1600 organizations as we all prepare for the big day. The deadline for profile updates is April 15 but we encourage you to submit them as soon as possible.

The GiveBIG Team

Nonprofit Toolkit
All the tools you need to rally your champions in the community are in the GiveBIG Nonprofit Toolkit, available now on the GiveBIG Nonprofit Resources page. The kit includes logos, graphics, email samples and social media tips to help you get the word out and make the fifth year of GiveBIG your biggest year yet.

Where’s My Profile?
Search was down on The Seattle Foundation website last week but it is back up and running. If your organization has an existing profile on our website, now would be a great time to review it. Use the search box in the upper right portion of most pages on www.seattlefoundation.org. Profile updates are due by April 15.

If your profile is new, we are working through a backlog of submissions and we will notify you via email when your profile is live. We appreciate your patience. Don’t forget to choose Submit when you have finished editing so we know you are done. We review and format your changes before publishing nonprofit profile updates.

Returning Click & Pledge Users
If your organization participated last year, all you need to do is run a small credit card transaction through the Donate Now button on your organization’s profile. Check the receipt text for any out-of-date information. You can log in to portal.clickandpledge.com to update your address and contact information. Choose Account Info in the upper right portion of the screen. You can edit each item that needs to be corrected. When you choose Update, that change will be reflected on the receipts. Please contact Click & Pledge directly if you have any trouble updating your contact information (mention TSF GiveBIG in the subject line to expedite your request): http://help.clickandpledge.com/customer/portal/emails/new

New to Click & Pledge This Year?
Thanks to all of you who have returned your TransFirst contracts. TransFirst is the merchant bank that processes credit card payments for Click & Pledge. If you returned your contract in the last few days, the link may not be live yet on The Seattle Foundation website. We will email you when your Click & Pledge link is added to your organization’s profile.

If you haven’t emailed the contract to TransFirst, please do so as soon as possible to ensure your account will be live in time for the event. If you believe your account should be live by now, please forward your acknowledgement email on to givebig@seattlefoundation.org and we will investigate.

Nonprofit Toolkit
We are currently resolving some issues with The Seattle Foundation website and plan to make the GiveBIG Nonprofit Toolkit available next week.

Profile Submissions
Thank you to all of you who have submitted new profiles or profile updates. We are working through a backlog of requests. If your profile is new to the website, we will email you when it is live.

Search on our website is currently down. If you would like to find your organization’s profile link, please use this URL: http://www.seattlefoundation.org/npos/ and scroll down to find your organization.

If you would like to update your organization’s profile, please go to http://www.seattlefoundation.org and choose Your Account. You will be asked to log in. If you have forgotten your password, there is an option to reset your password on that screen. Once you get logged in, choose the NPO Profile tab (on the right side of the screen). You should see your organization listed on the bottom of that screen (if you don’t, please email webprofile@seattlefoundation.org and include your organization name and login). Click on your organization’s name to open the profile edit form.

Enter your updates and save the form every 30 minutes or so to avoid timing out. When you are done with your updates, choose Submit. We will review your changes and publish them within a few days.

Click & Pledge
Many of you have started the process with Click & Pledge or recently submitted your signed contracts. We are adding the credit card donation links for completed contracts and will notify you when the link has been added. If you have not returned your contract to TransFirst, please do so as soon as possible. If you have questions about the contract, you may call TransFirst at (800) 654-9256.

Questions
If you have any questions, please email us at givebig@seattlefoundation.org.

GiveBIG is Tuesday, May 5, 2015, and this year’s theme is “Day of Champions.”

Whether you’re a Seahawk or a Sounder, a nonprofit organization leader promoting equity in underserved areas of King County or a tireless food bank staffer raising money to keep the shelves stocked, you’re a champion, and we want to celebrate that. On GiveBIG day, we’re stepping up to the plate to raise money for more than 1,600 nonprofits in greater Seattle.

Let’s encourage the public to score that game-winning goal in the form of a contribution to an organization that’s igniting change in our community. We’re all in this together, and we’re going to cross the finish line and make this year’s GiveBIG a true “Day of Champions.”

To help your nonprofit organization attract MVP-worthy support on GiveBIG day, we’re putting together a toolkit that contains helpful hints, tips, tools, and advice for the event. It will also include the latest GiveBIG logo and other design tools for use on the web and social media.

The toolkit will be available for download here later this week.

Today (March 2) is the deadline for:

Organizations that do not have profiles on The Seattle Foundation website to submit a profile query

AND

All 501(c)(3) organizations that do not have an active Click & Pledge account to sign up for Click & Pledge

Fiscally sponsored organizations needed to have these steps completed by February 2.

Many of you who have nonprofit organization profiles and an active Click & Pledge account have been trying to get in to edit your organization profile. We appreciate your efforts but unfortunately we are currently experiencing login issues on The Seattle Foundation’s website. We hope to have logins active again tomorrow (Tuesday, March 3). We appreciate your patience.

We are pleased to announce that The Seattle Foundation’s fifth annual GiveBIG will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

We recommend that nonprofits wait until at least a month before the event to start promoting GiveBIG to their supporters. This is to maximize impact and create excitement around the event, as well as lessen donor fatigue (we don’t want our community to be tired of GiveBIG before it even starts!).

Donations to eligible organizations* made by credit card through our website on May 5 Pacific Time (24-hour period) will be proportionally matched by a “stretch pool” of funds. We’ll be working on raising funds up until the last minute to try to maximize the amount of the stretch pool, so we won’t know the exact amount until closer to the event.

Our online donations processor, Click & Pledge, has agreed to keep the per-transaction processing fee at a flat rate of 2.85% for most credit cards. (Please note that some credit cards, usually rewards or business credit cards, carry an additional non-qualified fee of 1%.). American Express fees may vary.

What’s new for GiveBIG 2015?

  1. Cap on Donations: We have made a change to help the “stretch pool” go even further: we will “stretch” all donations up to $2,500 per donor, per organization. So, for example, if a GiveBIG donor makes one $10,000 gift to one organization, then we will only stretch the first $2,500 of that gift. But, if a GiveBIG donor makes five $2,500 gifts to five different organizations, all of those gifts will be fully stretched. To clarify: this $2,500 cap applies to individual donations. It does NOT mean that we will only stretch the first $2,500 that your organization receives on GiveBIG day!
  2. Minimum Amount to Be Eligible to Receive Stretch Dollars: Participating nonprofit organizations must raise a minimum of $100 to receive a stretch dollar check. This means that your organization must raise a TOTAL of at least $100 to receive stretch dollars.

*Organizations must raise at least $100 to be eligible for stretch dollars

If you don’t have a profile on our website yet and you are a 501(c)(3) organization that would like to participate in GiveBIG on May 5, please submit a New Nonprofit Organization Profile Query. The query submission deadline is March 2 (February 2 for fiscally sponsored organizations).

If you still need to apply for Click & Pledge to receive donations on GiveBIG day, the deadline is also March 2! (Not sure if you’re signed up for Click & Pledge or not? See this blog post.)

It’s true, we’ve haven’t even wrapped up GiveBIG 2014 yet and here we are already talking about GiveBIG 2015!

We just wanted to let you know that we have reopened new requests from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations who wish to have a profile on our website. If you’re planning to participate in GiveBIG 2015 and your organization does not yet have a profile on our website, we highly encourage you to start the process now to avoid the last-minute rush (we swear, May will be here again before you know it!). To learn more about profile requirements and to submit a query, please see our FAQ, Can my organization have a profile on your website?

We’ll have an update on GiveBIG 2014 stretch checks soon!
